weekend update

Filed under: main, weekend update — Andy @ 9:23 pm

let’s see - friday jay, sarah, kristy, and i carved pumpkins at my house. see pics on main page. saturday i had to go to an alumni brunch, and then to a rock dedication. yeah we dedicated a rock on campus. it’s betty’s thinking rock…haha…it’s 30 tons of rock in the middle of the grass…crazy. after that i went to the zwain’s house - who were out of town, but jess and casey were there watching the house so i came over and we had a good night of hanging out. two weekends in a row of us partying at our parents’ houses haha. then today sarah and i went and bought a cooler, and richard came over and we had dinner and watched sin city. i also watched the third star wars which i hadn’t seen. both movies were ok - star wars was probably better. i have a busy week at work ahead of me, so unless i have some downtime i won’t be posting much probably…but if you read this - you’re used to it haha.

weird, there’s like, totally nothing about italy mentioned…gah.

spain!

information about spain!

some info from the cia world fact book: (www.cia.gov)

Spain’s powerful world empire of the 16th and 17th centuries ultimately yielded command of the seas to England. Subsequent failure to embrace the mercantile and industrial revolutions caused the country to fall behind Britain, France, and Germany in economic and political power. Spain remained neutral in World Wars I and II, but suffered through a devastating civil war (1936-39). In the second half of the 20th century, Spain has played a catch-up role in the western international community; it joined the EU in 1986. Continuing challenges include Basque Fatherland and Liberty (ETA) terrorism and further reductions in unemployment.

ok so it’s been forever since i posted i know. i’ve been a bit busy with work, etc. plus there’s the drinking haha. i’ve actually been doing pretty well with the diet and have lost about 10 pounds so far. not too shabby for just one week, and cheating this weekend. i think i’m gonna go sailing this week - bundled up - it’s finally getting cooler! except it feels like it went from summer to winter over night - what happened to the fall?! oh well - i like it when it’s cold. but it gets darker a lot quicker now. guess i can’t have everything.
so, here’s something fun. i was talking to a friend of mine the other day - who shall remain unnamed because of the absurdity what happened - ok:
so my friend and i were talking, and he mentioned before something about wanting to go to italy over france because he really wanted to go to spain. well i informed him that france borders spain, and italy does not. well he thought that spain was a city in italy. yes, that’s right. he thought that the country of spain was a city in italy. i thought he was kidding. but no, he wasn’t. the kicker: he’s taking a spanish class - in COLLEGE. then when i was making fun of him, he said i shouldn’t think he was stupid just because he doesn’t know everything about everything. well that just sounded even more stupid! anyway, that’s my rant - lunch time - later.
