oh! this explains it all! gee…thanks catholicism! oh - and how’s that whole, “the earth is flat and the center of the universe” thing going for you? not so good you say? weird, i mean, you’re like, a great scientific authority and everything. and you killed most of those people who disagreed with you, right? in the name of jesus you say? i’m glad you can use magical thinking to explain away murderers, sociopaths, and despots. at least you seem to admit that hitler committed attrocities, unlike pope mel.

a good weekend! although i didn’t get nearly enough studying in. saturday night i went and met jess and casey at the marietta square because they were over this way. i told them that i could only meet them for dinner and then i had to go home and study. so what happens? well 6 pitchers of beer later, we decide that i won’t get any studying done anyway, so let’s go back to my place and hang out. so they come over, and we get some beer and hang out. it was great since they are never out this way. i almost got casey to take mr. sophocles home, but they chickened out this morning. oh well.
my day today was supposed to be devoted to reading, but instead richard, p.a., and i all went to the lake. we had to kill some wasps that had tried to make a little home in the sail, but other than that it was great fun. we hardly went anywhere physically on the water…i hate sailing in the summer because there are so many speed boats out there and they make me nervous. most of them are nice and get out of the way of sailboats, but some get really close and the wake sucks.
i experienced instant karma today on the boat. i canon-balled into the water trying to splash p.a., but i had my sunglasses on and they sank to the bottom. it’s my contribution to a future archaeological dig. but now i’m sunglass-less. so i’ll have to go get another $10 pair at cvs.
i’m going to try to make it to the boat every weekend - but we’ll see how busy i am. it would be nice to just take some books with me, spend the night one night and read, then go sailing the next day. it’s like a little vacation home haha. i went to the boat early saturday morning with the intention of maybe sailing and reading (then i found the wasps and was unprepared - sans spray) and just read a little - but there was a little kid and his father across the dock who camped out on their boat (same as mine: a catalina 22). i figured it would be a better use of my investment if i did the same now and then.
i have class tomorrow, and i really need to finish reading some aristotle tonight. apparently this teacher is giving quizzes on our readings…in a master’s program. wow…i feel so…undergrad…haha. so i’m going to finish reading - if i don’t rearrange my furniture again (as i already have once tonight) - and then go to bed. hope everyone had a good weekend!
